Retail leasing agents, shopping center owners, and smaller retail property owners would do well to review the algorithm of www.jet.com, which was recently acquired by Wal-Mart and plan accordingly. I would expect to see a shift towards office and service uses especially in secondary and tertiary retail locations. My take on all of this? People are too busy to shop, and traipsing through a Costco or Wal-Mart has long ago lost its charm in major urban market areas. #CRE
